I thought I knew what this pandemic was going to look like at the beginning. I was wrong.

In addition to losing a full-time job, breaking up, having family members be diagnosed with life threatening diseases, I’ve dealt with the anxiety and fear that the rest of us have dealt with.

I like to pretend it doesn’t exist. That I’m fine and that everything is going to be hunky-sorry but underneath it all I’m terrified.

I’m a student of history but never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be living through such an intense historical time period.

Some days I wonder when everything will be “normal” again. I realized there is no normal and that the entire world is changing rapidly and at a rate that we haven’t seen in generations.

But through it all I say “Don’t give up the fight. wear a mask. We will get through this.”
