My band, The Penny Stinkers, had a busy year planned, with several gigs that we hoped were going to put us on a new level with a significantly larger fan base. Of course all of those shows were canceled.

I'm no spring chicken, so I have fear of getting infected of course, but it's deeper than that. I dont know how our artist community is going to survive after this. Venues are struggling, artists are struggling, it's a battle.

In my day job I am a teacher. We have moved to an online instructional model. So I am spending day and night reaching out through the computer to make a connection.

Some relationships are indestructible. That phone call every few days with nothing to say – just keeping the connection. That's like gold.
